"Tell me; if a tree fell in the forest, with nobody around, and its fall to the ground didn't make a sound - would you panic in fear that you didn't exist or would you bask in the bliss of your nothingness?"

Last night, I slept

next to you

and dreamt

of sandcastles on the moon

and paper-lanterns.

I was always told not to wear my heart

on my sleeve

but it looks so much better

in your hands.

At 10 years old she made perfume

for her mother

from water, mud and lavender

that she found in the garden.

By 16, she was drinking beer

made from heart-ache and broken love.

At 18 years old

she packed her bags -

bought her mother the finest scent that she could find

and told her to wear it

when she thought ‘Mr. Right’ was on his way.

She packed a shatter-proof heart

and her best dress - thinking the dress

was the most important.

“Funny”, she said, “How quickly

all these things change.”

I can’t live without you.

You make my words melt

and my heart stop.

I keep telling myself

‘Just remember to breath…’

It is dangerous being in love

with you.
